PhD from the University of Cantabria, Spain and MSc in Marine and Environmental Science from the University of Genoa, Italy. Passionate professional with almost two decades of experience in environmental, coastal and marine science and management, with a strong focus on coastal hazard risk management. International experience in research, consultancy and capacity building with projects in Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, North Africa, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Chile. Developed approaches on projects in coastal planning and management, estuary and river management, climate change adaptation, systems thinking and modelling, socio-economic studies and stakeholder engagement. In late 2009 joined Griffith University in Australia, working on climate change adaptation projects in South East Queensland. Laed author of the Queensland's Compendiun of Coastal Hazard Options (2012) and of the Guidelines for the preparation of Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategies for Queensland Costal Councils (2016). In 2018-19 developer of a model for governance for the Richmond River in NSW for the Office of Environment and Heritage of the NSW Government, supporting the development of Coastal Management Programs in Northern NSW. In May 2019 leader of coastal management projects in Queensland and NSW for Alluvium Consulting Australia, for clients including Brisbane City Council and councils in the Greater Sydney region.
